Athlone Gymnastics Club

Our Summer Camps are in full swing now with 2 weeks completed in morning and afternoon. We’re always amazed at how much the children can learn and improve over the course of the week. This week is the last week with morning and afternoon camps running, we have limited space available there.
23rd July we are taking a break to give everyone a chance to recharge their batteries.
30th July we have just the morning camp running with only a couple of spaces left.
6th August is our final morning only camp this Summer, there are still some spaces available.

To book all you need to do is click on the Summer Camp Tab on our website and select the week you would like to book.  You will find all the details in the link.

Next week is the beginning of our Summer Camps and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to all the children who have registered to take part in a fun-filled week of Gymnastics.
As all the registrations are done online there is nothing to be filled out on the first day, all the admin is taken care of in advance so there won’t be any delays. Please ensure that your child arrives on time and is also collected on time each day. The camp times are 9.30am to 1.00pm and the afternoon camp from 2.00pm to 5.30pm.
Please send water and a healthy snack (no sweets, chocolate, popcorn, chewing gum, fizzy drinks and there is a strict ban on NUTS/NUTELLA AND ALL NUT PRODUCTS, due to allergies of others), your co-operation in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for sport (no jeans, skirts, dresses) no jewellery and hair should be tied up on arrival.
We have a very strict Child Protection Policy within our Club for the safety of all the children participating. Only registered members are allowed into the gym area, this includes our coaches and committee, all who have been Garda vetted and completed Safeguarding training. Parents are requested to collect their children in the front lobby of the gym as children are not allowed into the car park unaccompanied. Parents will be invited to a short display on the final day of camp to see a sample of what the children have been doing during the week (a note will be sent home with the children during the week).

Best of luck to Aimee, Orlaith, Rachel, Grainne, Judy, Jenny, Caitlin, Áine, Cliodhna, Ciara, Aoibhinn, Keela, Mia, Aoife and Eleanor who are all competing in the National Indoor Arena on Saturday in the National Series Super Championship. All camps are open to Members and Non-Members aged 6 and over, run by fully qualified Gymnastics Ireland Coaches where the children can learn new skills and have lots of fun in a safe environment.

Please take note of our End of Term dates for each class as follows :-

Saturday Classes – 23rd June
Sunday Classes – 24th June
Tuesday Classes – 26th June
Wednesday Classes – 27th June
Thursday Classes – 28th June

A link will be sent to you by text over the coming week to register your child for our September term. This is the only way you can register and pay for your child. Please be mindful of the deadline for registering as any places not secured by that date will be offered to children from our waiting list. If you have recently changed your phone number please text your child’s name, class time and your new number to 083 8333171. If your child is not returning can you please advise us of this also.

New dates for the event – collection will now take place on 7th June.  Please drop your bags during class times from 2nd June onwards, do not leave outside if the gym in not open.  Apologies we cannot accept any before this date as we do not have space to store them.  Thank you for your support.

As part of our on going fund raising, we are holding a Cash for Clobber collection. Time to clean out your closets, your attics and your spare rooms. Put any unwanted items, see list below, into bin liners. Drop them into the gym any day during class times.

Many thanks to all for your continued support. All funds raised go into improving the gym for your children’s safety and enjoyment.

Tell friends and family too, the more collected the more money for the club!

Congratulations

Congrats to all our gymnasts who recently participated in the National Series, the three medal winners, Aimee and Barbara (Silver) and Aoibhinn (Bronze).

Well done to Ciara, Aoibhinn, Mia, Keela, Ruth, Barbara, Aimee, Áine, Orlaith, Caitlin, Grainne, Rachel, Clíodhna, Judy and Jenny who have qualified for the National Series Super Championships to be held at the end of June in Dublin, also Katie, Eleanor and Tara who are reserves for the Championships.  We wish them all the very best of luck.
