About Athlone Gymnastics Club

Athlone Gymnastics Club is a lively and dedicated club that is run on a voluntary basis by a committee made up of the parents of current and past club members and coaches. The mission of our club is to coach our members towards their full potential in a safe, fun and progressive environment.

We provide both competitive and recreational training to children from the age of 6 upwards. Our primary aim is to increase the opportunities for children to participate in gymnastics as a general sport and aid in their development through sport.

Unfortunately, all of our classes are currently full.  Please subscribe to our website to receive updates and space availability.  This does not mean your child is added to a waiting list, it is a means of keeping you informed.

We are affiliated with Gymnastics Ireland, the national governing body for the sport in Ireland.

Athlone Gymnastics Club is primarily a recreational gymnastics club with a limited competitive element. Entry to the competitive classes is by invitation only.

Only our qualified Gymnastics Ireland coaches are in a position to decide whether a gymnast can progress to the competitive group. There is very limited availability to the competitive group and parents should not automatically expect that children will progress to this group, regardless of how long they have been members.

We do believe however that it is possible for all children to participate, learn, progress and enjoy the sport within the participation groups. They will develop good co-ordination, self-confidence and discipline as well as strength, balance and flexibility.

We introduced a new recreational program structure, together with new termly Assessments in September 2019. Our recreational group training sessions and assessments are based on A,B,C,D groups which the gymnasts will progress through during their time at Athlone Gymnastics Club.

Where to find us:

We are based in Monksland, on the west side of Athlone.
