As we are inundated with enquiries about new members joining our Club, it is not possible to reply to all those messages individually, there simply would not be enough hours to do so.
The procedure is as outlined already on our website and here is a summary, as follows :-

Whenever spaces are available, the links to those classes are advertised on our website and are open to anyone who falls within the years outlined for a particular class. If you have subscribed, you will receive a notification of this new post to the email address that you used when you subscribed. We do not make individual contact with our subscribers. We have no control over the time the email is delivered to your inbox
Spaces are strictly on a first come basis so we have no control over who gets a space
Children must be age 6+ to join (depending on space available)
All spaces advertised on our website are for beginners in a recreational class.
We do not operate a waiting list, nor do we hold spaces for a later date

Thank you sincerely to everyone who gave up their time to volunteer at our fundraiser over the past 2 days, in very cold weather, at SuperValu Monksland – Kelly, Isabell, Susan, Josephine, Dee, Arthur, Monica, Lorraine, Darina, Lisa, Inez, Claire, Dee, Yvonne, Spencer, Josh, Gemma, Maria, Alice, Cathy and Annette. We are beyond grateful for all your help!
A special word of thanks to Kelly who is always the first one to volunteer for fundraising for the past number of years, she’s always one to depend on!
Thank you to Dee who volunteered on both days, she was a great addition to the team and always a great support!
To Tim, Ronan and the staff of SuperValu for your help over the two days – thank you so much.
Finally, to everyone who donated to our fundraiser over the weekend, we are extremely thankful. All funds raised will go directly into the Club to benefit all the members.
Today marks the final day of classes for 2025 and what an incredible year it has been.
We were delighted to add some extra classes to our timetable throughout the year, most recently in our current term, to cater for the ever growing demand for gymnastics.
For our recreational gymnasts, we held our annual club competition back in June and with over 100 children taking part in this, it was a great success. The work that goes into this can never be underestimated with the coaches preparing the children for months in advance. It is a lovely opportunity for the gymnasts to show their families these routines andthe work that has been put into them.
On the National competition front, we had an amazing year, taking home a total of almost 60 medals across all apparatus. The work from the gymnasts and the coaches to achieve this is immense.
Thank you to all our gymnasts for the joy, energy and enthusiasm they bring to the classes week after week. Watching so many lovely new friendships form and gymnasts growing in confidence as well as learning many new skills is so rewarding.
To the parents and guardians – your unwavering support and friendship is totally appreciated. Thank you for all the class drop offs and pick ups, we know it is difficult to juggle so many activities with day to day life and to include us in the busy schedules means a lot.
Finally to thebackbone of our club – the superb coaching team. Their time and dedication is what keeps the club running and we are so grateful to have them with us, without them none of this would be possible.Enjoy the well deserved break!
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our gymnasts, coaches, parents and families a very Happy and Healthy Christmas. We hope 2026 will be kind to everyone and especially for those who have lost a loved one during the year, we hope it will be a better year.
We are closed for all classes now and will reopen again on 7th January. Enjoy the break and stay safe and well.
We realise how important it is to have teenage girls in sport, for both their physical and emotional wellbeing and unfortunately the teen years sees the biggest dropout ratefrom sports across many areas.
If you have a girl who was born between 2008 and 2013 who would like to join our Teen Class, we have a limited number of spaces available. We welcome complete beginners to girls who may have done some gymnastics when they were younger and would love to return to it.
This is for new members in a recreational gymnastics class, our program is not competition-based and is more about enjoying the sport of gymnastics as well as being a great way of making some new friends, without the pressures of competitions.
If this is for you or you would like some more information, please visit the link below or drop us an email to administrator@athlonegymnasticsclub.ie if your questions are not answered in the link.
Due to huge demand for class for children born in 2017 and 2018, we have now made some adjustments to the spaces we have availablefor next term. The new term begins on Saturday, 13th December and Sunday, 14th December for these classes.
These spaces are for beginner recreational classes for new members and not additional classes for existing members.
The spaces we have made changes to are :
Saturday 12.15-1.15pm – Girls born between 2014 and 2018
We have a limited number of spaces available in our recreational classes for beginners for the new term which starts early in December.
This is for new members only and not additional classes for existing members.
Spaces are all on a first come basis and classes are for specific age groups. If your child’s year of birth is not listed, this means that, unfortunately, we do not have space for that age for this term as those classes are already full.
Please note : we only take children from age 6 upwards, depending on space availableand we do not take names for future spaces.
Once you have completed all the fields on the form and made the payment, you should receive an email from Jotforms and a receipt from PayPal, these are automatically generated and may go to your Spam folder. If you do not receive them, the registration has not been successful. Once the spaces have been filled, the link will disable. If there is another class for that age group, you can try for a space there but spaces fill up quickly so early booking is highly recommended. Once spaces are filled, we will not have any additional spaces available at this time.
Please scroll down through the long list to find the class that suits you best – including some spaces for Boys and for Teens. We aim to cater for as many age groups as we can within these classes to give as many children as possible the opportunity to join us and try out gymnastics.
Saturday 5.15-6.15pm – BOYS born from 2015 to 2017(FULL)
It is almost time for our GymSTART stars to showcase their routines at the upcoming competition in the National Arena at the first Floor & Vault Teams event for this competition. We hope they have the best time in such an amazing arenaand make some great memories with their gymnastics friends.
Our final pre-competition training has been completed as our fabulous gymnasts return to the National Indoor Arena over the weekend for the National Series competition. We would like to wish them the very best of luck over the weekend, we know they have worked very hard in preparation for this.
We are super excited to see them perform and no doubt their families share in that excitement with us.Do your best girls, be proud of yourselves and most importantly, enjoy the occasion!
None of this would be possible without the support of the parents and families and for this we thank them for their patience and commitment and for fitting the training times into their busy schedules.
Finally, a special word of thanks to Saoirse and the super coaching team who we rely on so much and are so privileged to have in our gym. They give up a huge amount of time for coaching and attending competitions with the girls and no words of thanks are enough for this.
A reminder to parents that we are closed for all classes from Saturday, 25th October to Saturday, 1st November 2025 (both dates included) – classes return as normal on Sunday, 2nd November. These dates are already factored into our term calendar.
