As the situation regarding queries about new spaces has become unmangeable we will no longer be replying to individual queries to do with new spaces or waiting list.
Please note the following:-
We no longer keep a waiting list.
Children must be 6+ to join the club, space depending.
Having subscribed to our website does not mean your child is on a waiting list.
Subscribers to our website will automatically receive an email when anything is posted to it, we have no control over when this email is delivered to your inbox, this does not mean your child will be offered a space through this forum.
When new spaces become available, these are advertised on our website and are strictly on a first come basis. Once the spaces have been filled, the link will automatically be disabled.
Spaces advertised on our website are for beginners joining a recreational class.
Please do not interrupt coaches during classes or Camps to ask about spaces, waiting lists, etc. Their job is to coach the children and they are not involved in administration duties.
We understand that there is a huge demand for places but we can only offer them according to our coaches’ availability, as all coaches must be qualified under our governing body, Gymnastics Ireland.
Finally, our Club is run by a group of volunteer parents along with our Club Manager, Imelda McLoughlin. We carry out various fundraising events throughout the year to enable us to constantly improve and upgrade equipment as we are not government funded or a business entity. Please be mindful of all the voluntary work that goes into running the Club and please support us in fundraising efforts.
Our new class for 4 and 5 year olds will begin on 10th September 2019 for a term of 7 weeks. This is for both boys and girls. Parents/minders do not wait in the gym with the children. All children must be fully toilet trained and able to manage on their own in the toilet. As these classes are very small, spaces are extremely limited. There is no other class for 4 or 5 year olds so please ensure this time and day suits before booking as bookings are non-refundable.
4 year olds – must be 4 before the term starts
Time of Class : Tuesdays from 2.30-3.15pm
Please use this link to register and pay full term fees in advance (we do not accept any other format of registration or payment), strictly on first come basis
Do you have a child (boy or girl) born in 2014 or 2015 who is interested in learning gymnastics in a safe, fun and structured environment? If so, we will shortly be opening up registration for a very limited number of children, starting in September.
We are not taking any names in advance or holding places and all registrations will be done online via a registration link through our website, you will then be directed to PayPal to pay the 7 week term fee, insurance and membership and all places are on a first come basis only!
This will be a drop and go class so parents/minders do not stay in the gym with the child, please ensure your child is comfortable to stay on their own before you register as we cannot provide refunds.
Please note: child must be either 4 or 5 before 1st September to start in either class and it does not give any entitlement to a place in our main 6+ classes later on.
Classes will run at the following times only, from 10th September:-
Congratulations to our newly appointed Director of Gymnastics, Elisha Colgan, we are thrilled to have her on board. Elisha has been part of our Club for over 20 years, first as a gymnast and then as a coach. She received Coach of the Year in 2017, a national award by our governing body, Gymnastics Ireland, in recognition of her commitment and dedication to the Club. Elisha is without doubt an inspiration to all our gymnasts and coaches with her positivity, energy, humour, ideas, work ethic and loyalty, along with her vast knowledge of gymnastics. She has a massive passion for the sport and this is very evident, from the moment she steps inside the door, where her energy creates a vibrant atmosphere. As our Head Competition Coach, she has guided many of our gymnasts to National medal success in recent years, putting the Club firmly back on the competitive map once again.
Elisha has many plans for the Club and with the continued support
of the Committee will endeavour to bring them to fruition.
There are some changes coming on board, a new program and
assessments for recreational gymnasts, a new timetable, and introducing and
mentoring new coaches, to name but a few!
Elisha will be assisted by our two newly appointed Advanced
Coaches – Aoife Mannion and Eimear Flynn. Aoife and Eimear are no
strangers to our Club either, both have been with us since they were promising
young gymnasts and progressed on to be two wonderful ambassadors for our Club
and gymnastics. We congratulate both of these young ladies on their
appointments. Like Elisha, they have brought energy, ideas, passion and
creativity in abundance.
Between them they bring a wealth of knowledge and are inspiring
role models for the gymnasts and future coaches. We wish them every
success with their new roles and look forward to working with them for many
years to come.
Well done to all the gymnasts who took part in our End of Year Competition, we hope you had lots of fun!
Thanks to Elisha for all her work on the day and preparations beforehand along with the fabulous coaching team, we are so lucky to have such dedicated coaches. From the photos we are wondering who enjoyed it more – gymnasts or coaches?!
We couldn’t forget to mention our leaders, helpers, committee and everyone involved in making this event such a huge success.
A few of our gymnasts didn’t pass on an opportunity recently to meet Roscommon Senior Football Manager, Anthony Cunningham. We wish him well in the Super 8’s with the Team
Lizanne White and Conor Finnegan from Bank of Ireland Athlone presenting our Club Director of Gymnastics Elisha Colgan, Karen Guest and some of our gymnasts with a cheque recently. Many thanks to Bank of Ireland for the contribution which is greatly appreciated
