Huge congratulations to our gymnasts who recently competed in the National Arena in Dublin. Amazing performances by everyone, the standard, as always, was incredibly high and we are so proud of the gymnasts who competed against a huge number of gymnasts from clubs all over the island of Ireland – Eva, Laoise, Saoirse, Sarah, Nicola and Clíodhna, all who worked really hard and supported each other with such lovely spirit of sportsmanship. The memories made on these days are so very special.

It’s competition time once again – best of luck to our gymnasts competing in Dublin at the National Series Competition over the weekend – Clíodhna, Nicola, Eva, Laoise, Sarah and Saoirse. You’ve all worked really hard for this weekend, now is your time to shine!
As always, none of this would be possible without the commitment and dedication of their coaches – Elisha and Saoirse, and we will always be grateful for the hours you put in to give our gymnasts opportunities to compete at this level, these are indeed very special days for them and for our club.
Safe travelling to all and enjoy those special moments making fantastic memories.
It’s exam time again and many of our members (past and present) are starting their Leaving and Junior Cert tomorrow. We would like to wish all the students the very best of luck, especially Áine, Gráinne, Marsha, Nikka, Nicola, Ava, Kate, Maeve, Rachel M, Rachel C, Tara, Niall, Riain, Ronan and many past members who are also starting their exams – we know you will give it your best efforts. Best wishes for your future endeavours wherever that road takes you, no doubt the future is very bright and there are many great things awaiting you.
Well done to all our gymnasts who competed at the National Series in Dublin at the weekend, where over 1,600 gymnasts took part over the 2 days. The standard was exceptionally high with large numbers competing in each level. There was wonderful talent on display and we are so proud of each of our gymnasts for their incredible performances and positive attitude throughout, they really did their club and coaches proud!
Special congratulations to the medal winners – Kate (Gold on Beam and Bronze All Around), Aoibhinn (Silver on Beam) and Niamh (Silver on Vault), well done girls, what a wonderful achievement!
Thanks to the parents of the gymnasts who drive them to and from training week after week and support them along their journey, giving up their day to attend the competitions, it’s so encouraging for the girls. The hard work and commitment by the gymnasts is incredible and we are delighted to see some medals making their way back to Athlone once again!
As always, we couldn’t have gymnasts competing at this level without the sheer commitment and enthusiasm from Elisha, Saoirse and Tara and for this we are extremely grateful. What a privilege it is to give the gymnasts such a wonderful opportunity of competing and medalling against so many clubs throughout the country, it really is something special and one we, as a club, never take for granted. The work that goes on behind the scenes is quite phenomenal and without it, we could not even dream of being part of such events. Take a bow coaches and gymnasts!
