Congratulations!

We recently returned to the National Indoor Arena for the National Series Competition which saw some of our competitive gymnasts compete in all four apparatus over two weekends. These girls are probably the hardest workers we could imagine and we are delighted to have them represent our club with such enthusiasm and pride.

The standard at the competitions was exceptionally high with clubs competing from all corners of Ireland and it is always such a joy to watch the super routines on display, especially from the Athlone gymnasts! Some of our girls were extremely unlucky not to take home a medal this time, they came so close and should be extremely proud of themselves and we have no doubt their day will come again to step onto the podium.

Congratulations to our medal winner – Mya – who won a bronze on vault, a super performance and a well deserved medal – well done Mya.

Thanks to Saoirse for accompanying and looking after the girls over the two weekends and to Tara for judging at the competition, well done ladies!

As always, thanks to the Athlone families and supporters who travelled to watch the girls in action, thanks for the support, it is always much appreciated.

Best of Luck!

Good luck to the girls competing in the upcoming National Series competitions in the National Indoor Arena. They have been working really hard on their routines throughout their Summer Training and since classes resumed in September. Our competitive gymnasts train for 12 months of the year, unlike many other sports, it is not a seasonal sport. These girls have been super committed to their training, very rarely missing a training session, and we wish them everything they dream of and much more. We couldn’t be more proud of them.

Best of luck Kate, Orlaith, Aoibhinn, Isla, Mya, Laoise, Saoirse and Sarah.

Thanks as always to the dedication and committment of their coaches, Saoirse and Tara, for their work in preparing the girls for the competitions, none of this would be possible otherwise.

As ever, thanks to the parents for getting the girls to training and supporting them, especially the early morning sessions, we know it can be difficult, particularly on days off, but we have no doubt the pride of seeing them compete in a national competition is worth every moment of it!
