WOW WOW WOW!!!

What a fantastic weekend we had in Dublin at the National Series Competition where over 1,300 gymnasts showcased their hard work and talent.

Our girls were superb, taking home 33 medals over the weekend! They well and truly deserved every one of those medals after the hard work gymnasts and coaches have put into their training.

The tally of medals was – 8 Gold, 10 Silver and 15 Bronze and each one was just as important as the next. The medals were spread right across each apparatus which is even more encouraging for everyone involved.

A huge well done to the girls and their coaches, especially the way in which each one performed their routines and represented themselves and our Club, we are incredibly proud, not just of the medal winners, but all our girls because everyone contributed something – especially those who supported and cheered on their fellow gymnasts. For some of the girls it was their very first NATIONAL competition and they embraced it all, even taking home some medals along the way! It was immensely rewarding to see 3 Athlone gymnasts on the podium in the top 3 places on more than one occasion.

The preparations are done and the excitement is building with our girls, they have been eagerly awaiting the National Series Competition coming up over the weekend. We wish them every success and really hope they enjoy the event, they have worked so hard for it.

A special word of thanks to the parents who are always so supportive of the gymnasts and we appreciate their efforts to always get them to training sessions providing a first class taxi service!

Wishing all our members and their families a lovely Easter. We will return for regular classes on Friday, 25th April at the normal times.

For those who are registered for the Camp next week, we will see you @ 9.30am on Tuesday morning for lots of fun and gymnastics, looking forward to it!

We are closed from Monday, 14th to Thursday, 24th April (both dates included) for our Easter break. Normal classes resume on Friday, 25th April. These dates have all been factored into the term dates.

What an amazing weekend we had at the National Series in The National Sports Arena.

We saw some amazing performances over the weekend, including the routines from our own gymnasts where they went out and gave it everything and we couldn’t be more proud of the Athlone representation.
