Kelly’s Cafe in Monksland have very generously donated a full breakfast for 2 people to our Christmas raffle, we are thrilled to include this as one of our prizes! Kellys are always great supporters of the Club and have donated to many of our fundraisers over the years, thank you so much Enda for this generous prize, we really appreciate your support.

Kelly’s Cafe is located only a few minutes away from our gym in the heart of Monksland Retail Centre opposite SuperValu, beside the Credit Uniton. They serve all day breakfast, lunch specials and Christmas home baking is now in stock (yum, yum!!). Opening hours are 8.30am to 5,00pm, Monday to Saturday, open Christmas Eve from 8.30am to 3.00pm, reopens in the New Year on 3rd January 2023. Tel: 090 6444004.

Why not take a break from the Christmas rush and pop in for one of their delicious treats when you’re in the area or after you drop your child off to their gymnastics class!

We are so grateful to everyone who supported our fundraiser at SuperValu in Monksland on Friday and Saturday. Thanks to all who bought tickets for the raffle or gave a donation, every cent is much appreciated.

A special word of thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers – Karin, Katie, Maggie, Ellen, Lisa, Colette, Imelda, Samantha, Sinead, Ciara, Evonne, Anne Marie, Victoria, Stephanie, Aisling, Annette, Ciara, Goretti, Kellyann, Amanda, Olivia, Lina, Eimear, Maree and Maura who gave up their time to assist with this. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the community and many clubs and organisations would not exist or function without them. They selflessly give up their time to help with events such as this and we are extremely grateful to them. We have to give a special mention to our youngest volunteer, Charlotte, she’s most definitely on the good list!

The next date for selling tickets is 10th and 11th December in Athlone Towncentre Shopping Centre. If you can give an hour of your time to sell tickets, please get in touch and we will be delighted to slot you in!

Date for the raffle is 18th December to be held in the gym. Top prize is €1,000 voucher for Center Parcs in Longford. We have lots of other fantastic prizes, all of which will be listed before the draw. Thanks to all our sponsors, we couldn’t do this without you all!

Jimmy’s Superstore have very kindly given us yet another fantastic prize to the value of €100 to spend instore, for our Christmas fundraiser.

I’m sure most of you have visited Jimmy’s since they opened their doors, which is located right next door to Smyths Toys on the Dublin Road in Athlone, but for anyone who is not familiar with them or what they sell, here is a little recap…..

Jimmy’s Superstore is a family run business established in 2009 with stores in Athlone, Ennis, Carrick-on-Shannon and Cashel.  Jimmy’s Superstore provides a wide range of products including stationery, party supplies, household items, toiletries, toys and much much more.  They have something for everyone!

We have just received yet another spectacular prize of €100 One 4 All Voucher, this can be used in hundreds of outlets nationwide, a great prize to get before Christmas! This was very generously donated to us by Hutchinson Davidson & Son, Ballinasloe, thank you so much to Elaine for this super prize.

We are delighted to receive another prize for our raffle from locally owned business, Oliver Carty & Family, based across the road in Monksland. They have very kindly donated a Gift Bag with some of their delicious products, just in time for the festive season! You can also find their products on sale in local supermarkets.

Here is a little bit of their story so far……

Last weekend saw the girls return to the National Arena to compete in the WAG National Series competition. As always, they represented themselves and their club with pride. They performed amazing routines in what was a very tough all around competiton, with huge numbers competing at each level. We are so proud of each one of them for all their hard work and commitment, especially since the full return to training.

Thanks, as always, to all the parents and families who came along and supported them on the day and who continue to support them throughout the year, they couldn’t do it without that! Hope everyone enjoyed the competition.

By now, all the gymnasts should have received a raffle card from us to sell for our Christmas Draw to be held on 18th December. If not, or if you need additional cards, please get in touch and we will be happy to supply as many as you wish! The deadline to return these cards and money is 10th December.

In addition to our top prize of €1,000 Voucher to be spent in Center Parcs, Longford, we have received a very generous donation of €100 Cash from one of our members’ parents, to be spent anywhere you choose, no doubt it will come in very handy, especially given the time of year! Thank you so much for this very kind and much appreciated donation.

We have been really busy for the past few months preparing for the WAG National Series Competition which is being held this weekend in the National Arena, the hard work is done and the time has finally arrived, we’re all super excited!

Best of luck to gymnasts – Isla, Aoibhinn, Orla, Katie, Mya, Sive, Kate, Mia, Aoibhinn, Orlaith and Nicola. Go and do your best girls and have a fabulous time representing your club. We are so proud of all you have put into this competition and your dedication to gymnastics and we can’t wait to see you perform. Thanks also to our coaching team for their hard work and commitment – Elisha, Saoirse and Tara.

Unfortunately one of our gymnasts, Keela, has had to withdraw from the competition due to an injury and we wish her a speedy recovery. She will still be supporting her fellow gymnasts all the way!

This also marks a very special weekend for us as we have 2 of our coaches – Saoirse and Tara, making their debut in judging, Good Luck girls and enjoy the experience!
